Why this personal site?

Assalamu alaykum, and welcome to my personal site. Maybe you came here out of curiosity, or something I said or did elsewhere caught your attention. In a world full of noise and masks, this is a free space where I express my thoughts to you directly and share the values I believe in, without any constraints. I don’t sell products here. I’m not trying to convince you to hire me. I’m not here to boast or praise myself, nor to collect engagement and numbers. I’m here to help people by sharing the knowledge, the analysis, and the different angles I’ve arrived at, so they don’t die with me. You are my honored guests, and all I need from you is your minds, so you think alongside me. Take what you find useful, and I beg you to do good with it.

What topics do I care about?

In short, I’ll write about the topics that concern and touch me in my life generally. Much of it will be behind the scenes of what I build and work on. Much of it will be about the future of humanity with artificial intelligence. Sometimes I’ll share my technical discoveries, for those who understand such things. I also want to share the principles I live by, and my positions on some of the rules we’ve inherited as given from past generations. I’ll post thoughts, observations, and curiosities that come to me at random. I won’t follow a regular schedule, but I’ll try to publish at least one article per week.

Who do I really write for?

I write for the future, like a reader five years from now who wants to understand the history of my thinking, in case I produce something great. I write for my future kids, so that if I pass away, my wisdom stays with them in these writings. I write for myself, to put my thoughts into words instead of leaving them in my head taking up mental space at the wrong time. And finally, I write for every reasonable believer who seeks the truth and strives to hold on to their values despite the corruption around them. I write in Arabic and English because I speak both well, and so the message reaches the largest number of people around the world.

What about social media and communities?

I’ve never found my comfort on any platform. Each one demands a kind of content and writing that conflicts with my values and what I want, so either I give in and lose myself, or I resist and my voice gets lost. I chose to be free in my own personal space here. I also write long paragraphs that don’t grab attention, and I refuse to be part of the problem of fighting over users’ attention. Visiting my site is a choice, like your choice to read a book, without an algorithm shaping what you consume.

As for communities: even though I’ve found communities I respect, like Itqan and Mortakaz, I’m not used to being active online. It takes time and energy in reading and replying, and I wouldn’t be able to speak on every topic, because I want to respect the sanctity of what they do.

A closing word

I’ll be honest with you: back when I wrote for writing exams in Arabic, French, and English during my school years, I’d spend a long time on the introduction and the final conclusion. I hate that, haha. I find my comfort going straight to the heart of the matter, so don’t be surprised when I start and end with quick sentences. I’ve said everything I wanted to say in my first article here. I pray to Allah to guide us to what is good, and to guide us to righteousness in this life and the next. Thank you for reading.
